Mathilde Mukantabana Bio
Mathilde Mukantabana is originally from Rwanda. She graduated from the Master of Social Work program at CSUS in 1993 and is currently a professor of History at Consumnes River College. Mathilde has been involved in the Rwandan experience for more than 20 years. She is co-founder of a number of organizations, including American Friendship Committee for Rwandan Refugees and the Association of Rwandans in Diaspora. She is currently the President of Friends of Rwanda Association, a non-profit relief organization that helps children orphaned by genocide with focus on rural areas that are not reached by international organizations. She is in Rwanda currently teaching social work courses at the National University of Rwanda. Under the sponsorship of United Nations Development Programs, she helped launch the social work program at the University in the summer of 1999. Her connection to CSUS remains in the family since her husband, Alexandre Kimenyl is a professor in Ethnic Studies.
