Urusaro Bakuramutsa
President

Urusaro Bakuramutsa, is a graduate of California State University, Los Angles, California with a BA in Political Science and an emphasis in Global Politics at California State University, Los Angeles. During her pursuit of her BA she worked for UNICEF on a Girl’s Education Campaign. Following her graduation she landed a position as a Human Resource Assistant for a non-profit organization in Los Angeles dedicated to aiding the homeless in San Gabriel Valley area. In 2007 she took over leadership of Rwanda Convention Association from her brother Nkubito Bakuramutsa, and has set forth a new vision for the organization to expand from a community based organization to a full fledge NGO that will be dedicated to strengthening the education in Rwanda, promoting the development of Media, and encouraging the Rwandan Diaspora to network and invest in Rwanda. urusarobakura@rwandaconvention.org

 

Urujeni Bakuramutsa
Treasurer

Urujeni Bakuramutsa is the treasurer of RCA and has been an active member since the first Rwanda convention in 2004. She graduated from California State University, Sacramento in bio-chemistry. She is currently running her own business, ATEN IT in Sacramento, California. Urujeni utilizes her business background to aid RCA to attain and maintain funds.

Carol Rugege
Head of Protocol/Planning

Carol Rugege is a graduate of Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. After graduation, she pursued a career in several sales industries which has landed her a lucrative position as a Debt Consultant with the #1 and largest debt settlement company in the nation, Credit Solutions of America. Although Carol was born in the U.S., she's never lost touch with her parent's rich heritage and culture. Born to a Ugandan mother and Rwandan father, she learned at an early age to take great pride in her African roots and continues to work as Head of Protocol for the Rwanda Convention Association. Carol's vision for RCA is to promote its mission and elevate the organization's objectives on a global level. carolrugege@rwandaconvention.org

 

Collin Haba
Editor of RCA Newsletter

Collin Haba is one of the latest additions to the RCA team. He is well a known and respected editor with a powerful blend of strategic skills, experience and deep Knowledge of communication techniques. In addition to his role at RCA, Collin is pursuing his Masters Degree in Journalism and Communication. Collin is a former project officer of Imbuto Foundation, where he was responsible for writing and implementing education projects among other activities. He was also a former editor of Rwanda's only English daily newspaper, The New Times and a communications adviser to Rwanda's Ministry of Health. editor@rwandaconvention.org

 

Mutoni Karasanyi
RCA Education Director

Mutoni recently finished an MBA in Global Management at Boston College, where he also works full time in the Office of Student Services. His BA was in Film Studies and Political Science; and as an undergrad, he had also produced a short documentary in Uganda and Rwanda. Currently, Mutoni is looking to begin a career in Television Advertising Sales in New York City.

Anne-Lise Alida Kankindi
Public Relations

Anne-Lise Alida Kankindi was born on June 23, 1980. After surviving genocide in 1994, she attended and graduated from Groupe Scolaire de Rugunga high school. She immediately moved to New York to attend Molly College. In 2002 she transferred to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where she obtained her Bachelor€s degree in Accounting and Economics. She then worked as a staff accountant and marketing analyst for dpi West in Ontario CA. She relocated to Phoenix, AZ where she€s obtaining her MBA from University of Phoenix and works as a financial analyst. Her vision for RCA is to unite all Rwandans in North America, to inform them about the current and future opportunities in Rwanda in the investment & private sector, facilitate the sharing of their acquired knowledge and finally promote the Rwandan culture in North America.
